Excerpt

“Name?” she said, impatiently.
I was so flustered that for a second I’d forgotten who I was. “Hollis Murphy.”
She scribbled something on a spreadsheet and handed me a packet with my name and the number two hundred ten typed out on the front sticker, which I assumed was my room number.
In a flat bored voice, she said, “Everything you need to know is in the packet. Should you have any additional questions or needs after reading the information, please ask your RA. Have a productive semester. Next!”
Clutching the envelope to my chest, my gaze shifted back down, and I walked quickly out of the office.
As I turned the corner, a loud deep woot! jerked my attention down the hall. I took one step before crashing full force into something solid and warm. Stumbling back, I dropped the envelope. Once my balance returned, my eyes focused on a gray T-shirt with cut off sleeves, stretched across broad shoulders. When I glanced down in search of my envelope, I couldn’t help but spot the narrow hips and round ass covered in black basketball shorts. As I squatted to pick up the envelope, a tanned forearm came into view. My gaze roamed up to find the arm was covered in bulging muscles.
“Oh god, I’m so . . . sor…ry,” I stammered, my cheeks heating with embarrassment.
“Here ya go,” a deep voice said.
Reaching for the envelope, my gaze inadvertently shot up to the warmest green eyes ever created. His dark brown hair was cut short on the sides, longer on top, and tousled. The perfect amount of scuff peppered his strong jawline, with deep dimples framing a sexy lopsided smile. The air was immediately sucked from my lungs. He wasn’t just hot, he was boy band hot.
A deep chuckle drifted down before I realized he had stood up and was extending his hand to me.
Oh boy! I get to touch him.
I slipped my hand into his and felt an immediate jolt of electricity. The muscles in his arm twitched. He felt it too.
“Thank you,” I said, as he helped me up.
            “I’m Risher Stevenson.”
He was actually introducing himself to me.
It had become a habit not to look directly at anyone, especially a stranger. I automatically angled my head down and to the left, to hide the messed-up side of my face. But those green eyes locked me in place.
            “Hollis Murphy.”
“Nice to meet you Hollis Murphy.”
“Sorry again about running into you. I need to do a better job at watching where I’m going.”
The tip of his tongue slipped between his lips before they formed into a slight smirk. Just as he was about to speak, his name came barreling down the hallway.
“Rish! Get your ass down here. We’ve got a ton of boxes to haul in.” A blond-haired guy was standing at the end of the hall.
“I gotta go finish helping my friends move in.”
            I nodded.
Risher took three steps before turning back toward me. “Don’t do too good of a job.”
My eyebrows squished together in confusion.
“At watching where you’re going. I hate to think I won’t get rump bumped again.”
He winked before jogging away.
I Sasquatched those shoulders, those hips, and that ass all the way down the hall.

Review

Before I get into my review I first would like to say the this was my first book my Alison. I have heard nothing but great things about her Perfect series, so I was super excited to start STOP!.

STOP! is about a girl named Hollis. She had an accident that caused her to had surgery which in turn resulted in a scar on her face. She was often called names in high school so she is insecure while entering her first year in college. There she meets two boys.

Risher is adorable. He's smart and he is very kind.

Benten is going through something not all of us understand, but Hollis sees him as brave.

After finishing this book I was kind of disappointed. The writing was great, but it was Hollis that just didn't do it for me. Torwards the end I didn't really understand some of Hollis' decisions in terms of telling the authorities know about what was going on with Benten.

One thing that I would liked to know more about was Fishers past with his father. This book was a bit rushed at the end and I didn't really like that.

This book is labeled as New Adult and I don't know if the author intended for is to be NA or not, but aside from some bad words it felt like I was reading a Young Adult book.

All in all it was a good read, but I expected more from the other characters.

*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review*

Excerpt

The air was filled with the energy of the new school year. Hellos, goodbyes, laughter, and questions swirled around me. New friendships were already being formed and old ones reunited.  The pair of flip flops in front of me moved forward, so I followed. After fifteen minutes of the shuffle ‘n stop, I reached the check in desk. An older lady with short salt and pepper hair sat slightly hunched over, partially blocked by a large stack of thick manila envelopes. Never looking up, she recited a generic Welcome to Chambers spiel. All the noisy activity made it hard to hear every little thing the woman said. Her gaze and eyebrows lifted as she stared up at me.
Terrific, its starting already.
Not sure what to do, I gave her a weak smile and waited for instructions.
“Name?” she said, impatiently.
I was so flustered that for a second I’d forgotten who I was. “Hollis Murphy.”

“All right, everyone.” Lindsay stands up and pushes back her chair slightly. She wobbles a bit on her heels and rests her hand on my shoulder to steady herself. “Apparently, tonight is as good as any night to let you all in on a little secret.” She wipes the palms of her hands down the sides of her black dress. “So, for a little over a year now, Matt and I have been seeing each other.” There are a few chuckles, but mostly everyone sits silently listening to Lindsay. “We’ve kept it quiet for a while simply because it’s what worked for us.” She shrugs. “It started off casual and just turned into more, and we didn’t really make a big deal out of it.” She looks down at me and smiles the most beautiful, genuine smile I’ve ever seen. Her blue eyes sparkle in the lights from the crystal chandelier and her long, blonde hair hangs in waves. She looks almost angelic in the dimly lit room. “So, cat’s out of the bag.” She laughs and raises her glass. I stand up and raise my glass next to hers. “To Matt and me,” she says with a smile on her beautiful face. I lean in and press a long kiss to her lips while everyone hoots and hollers around us. “I love you, sweet girl,” I say between kisses.

My Review:

Come To Me Quietly is the story about a girl named Aleena Moore who secretly loves a boy named Jared Holt.

Aleena hasn't seen or heard from Jared in 6 years. Just when she tries to open her heart to another boy, Jared returns. Jared has a painful past that he regrets and would take it back in a heartbeat. When Jared returns, he is invited to come stay with Aleena and her brother. Aleena doesn't know he's back, so when she comes home imagine what she thinks when she sees him asleep on her living room couch. In the 6 years that have past, Jared is cover in tattoos and is so lost in rage that he's practically begging to be saved from his all his demons. Including the memories of his mother's death. Now that he's back, Aleena hope that he stays. As they reconnect, they find a passion so hot that they can't seem to stay away from each other.

As their affair develops, Aleena see all the pain Jared carries with him and just as she tries to help Jared lashes out in saying that he can't be saved. Inside he know that he doesn't deserve Aleena. He believes that he just takes and takes from people. He thinks that he doesn't deserve love at all. But Jared can't deny the attraction between Aleena and him. It's just a matter of time before he must decides whether he should stay or leave.

I really enjoyed reading this story. Every chapter I felt what Jared was going through. It was like I WAS Jared. I felt is pain. Like he said, 'I just keep taking and taking.' He is so full of anger over his mother's death that he distanced himself from everyone. I loved Aleena because, like her, I would do anything for Jared. Aleena tried to make him see that he was worthy of being loved by someone. I loved Aleena because she never gave up of Jared.

Come To Me Quietly Book Trailer

Excerpt
Slowly she began to approach, and I sank further back into the chair the closer she came, my knee bouncing harder as she timidly inched up in front of me. Her movements were slow, hypnotizing, and I couldn’t stop myself from watching those legs. My eyes darted to her hands. She was rubbing her thumbs over her fingertips as if she were searching for some kind of friction or maybe looking for confidence.  My gaze flicked up to meet her face. A color I didn’t understand had darkened her eyes. There was no looking away as she crossed the room, and my head continued to tilt back, locked on her, lost in this place where I knew I absolutely shouldn’t fucking be.
She stopped just a breadth from me.
My hands dropped slack, dangled at my sides.
Everything became heavy. My fingers twitched, and I had to force the air in and out of my lungs.
I swore I could actually hear Aly’s heart beating as she hovered in hesitation an inch away. She blinked hard, squirmed before she looked at me with determination. “Jared, I don’t want you to leave.”
“Aly. . .I. . .” What was I supposed to say? Because I didn’t want to leave either.
I had to.
Erasing the last of the space between us, Aly allowed the front of her legs to touch my knees, and she groaned as if the contact seared her. She wavered, before she reached out to run the back of her hand down my face, testing me. Tempting me.
I stopped breathing altogether when she slowly straddled my lap and murmured close to my ear, “Please. . .don’t leave me.”
Fuck.
This was bad, really fucking bad. And I knew I should push her away, make her stop because what she was doing was only bringing us a little closer to the edge. She held onto the chair behind me, her warm body pressed into mine. There was no chance she wasn’t feeling just how much I wanted her.
“What are you doing, Aly?” My hands went to her slender hips with the intention of edging her off my lap. Instead my fingers dug into the soft skin.
A shudder sped up my spine when she trembled above me.
Wetting my lips, I tried to move her back, but only managed to brush up against her further. Her expression was severe but soft, her movements shaky but sure. She searched my face, her eyes burning a path as she left me utterly exposed. And I could smell her, and the memory of the way she tasted, the way she felt, overwhelmed every last one of my senses. She didn’t even have to move, and she was already touching me everywhere.
She swallowed, then spoke. “Did you want to kiss me last night?”
“Last night was a mistake, Aly. I—”
Her hands went to my face, and she held me there, forcing me to look up at her.
“I didn’t ask you if it was a mistake. I asked if you wanted to.”
A frustrated sound worked its way free of my throat, and I shifted again, which only brought her closer. Right then I knew there was not a fucking thing I could do because nothing else mattered in the world except for the way she felt pressed up tight against me.  My fingers dug further into her hips, and we were nose to nose, Aly’s hands firm on my face. I realized we were moving, our bodies subtly rocking.
I groaned. “I’ve wanted to kiss you every single second of every single day since the moment I opened my eyes to find you standing over me, Aly.
